Niel OOC Information

Heya! I'm Niel and I'm sucker for character development. Plot wise, I'm pretty open to anything - long-term illness might make me feel uncomfortable due to past IRL experiences, but it heavily depends on how I feel and how it's portrayed ICly too. Otherwise I like to put my charas in shitty situations. angst, action, pain and so on, let's plot!

As the shop owner of Les Merveilles located in Ninka Nanka, Camille spends most of her time working. It includes making sure her shop is full of interesting items, finding new clients, and taking what she called special requests or creating chances to find some. Quite the opportunist? She lives quite well with that thought. However, she isn't the type to do dirty work. People have their specialty, don't they? Scandalmongers would tell you hers is being a bitch. A bit cynical and hating losing her time, she rarely beats around the bush and tends to throw underhand compliments.

Trust has to be earned, but Camille is too paranoid to trust someone. Hidden behind an invisible barrier, she keeps people at distance. Relationships are limited to business. After all, she knows only one way to deal with people: give and take. Used and being used. And if you're indebted to her, she'll make sure to refresh your memories until you pay it. Camille always tries to take care of hers quickly, as if she wants to get rid of something cumbersome.

But every action serves one goal: finding his fiancé. Without him or his dead body, she can't move forward. Dressed in black, indifferent to other men's charms, she seems to walk a tightrope. And any wrong move could destroy her. She doesn't care. She only seeks the truth.
Dominion 1
Mastery: Major
Necromancy: The reanimation of the dead. Anything living that has since died can be reanimated, depending on how strong the dominion is, how long the thing has been dead, and how large it is. The thing reanimated cannot truly think, but can follow orders, sometimes even after the necromancer has died. Necromancy has limits: the reanimated thing will only stay reanimated for a set length of time depending on the mastery level.
Power Based: Larger and older deceased life-forms can be reanimated.
Control Based: Deceased life forms stay reanimated for longer.

Dominion 2
Mastery: Greater
Dust: Generation, manipulation and control of dust or other particulate matter (smoke, sand). Includes everything from creation of dust storms to instantly dusting your house.
Power Based: More destructive dust control.
Control Based: More precise dust control.

Dominion 3
Mastery: Lesser
Psychic: A psychic is a wide-encompassing dominion that can foster great power over time. Psychics dabble in fortune telling and manipulation. Psychics can also put strong mental blocks in people’s minds, making them forget certain memories or even keep secrets locked in destructive magic, so that should they die, someone could not extract that information from their head (they, of course, can also reverse these effects and even break locks put on by weaker psychics or magic). Psychics have a deep resonation with the Astral Plane as well, and if they focus hard enough, they can detect all other spirits in their vicinity, even if they are not in physical form. Psychics are known for being able to talk to the dead as well, but that is neither here nor there as far as a confirmation in reality goes. To top it all off, psychics are able to place horrible curses of luck, or blessings of fortune on willing targets (meaning, someone who agrees to subject themselves to a fortune telling).
Power Based: You focus on fortune telling and manipulation. A lesser mastery psychic cannot alter others’ luck at all, but can alter their own slightly (small things, i.e. someone gives them the wrong amount of change back at a register-- bad: too little change-- good: too much change). However, legendary psychics can alter fate in ways unimaginable (big things, i.e. someone doesn’t die when they’re supposed to-- bad: they get hit by a car and pass away years before their life expectancy-- good: they live twenty years longer due to the cancer they were going to have never coming). **These alterations can stretch the imagination, but must remain in the realm of possibility. Think of this alteration as a multiplier. Even if you multiply the chances of something with a 0% chance of happening by 10000, there will still be a 0% chance of it happening (ex. 0 x 10000 = 0). It is also important to remember that fortune telling is not the same as scrying, but moreso a foggy reading on situations with the highest probability. Lesser mastery of fortune telling is basically guessing, but as a psychic masters more of their craft, fortune telling can be clear in predicting an actual path for a person and better understanding their emotions.
Control Based: You focus on mind barriers, from putting locks on super hush hush secrets, to unlocking someone’s full potential or lifting a curse. A very controlled psychic can erase pages of pages of memory from someone’s mental book, and can even explore the deepest mechanisms of the human brain. Control based psychics are typically good at reading a person’s behaviors and ticks, although not to be confused with an Empath, they are very detective-like at higher levels of mastery. Control based psychics are usually the ones that can easily sense spirits and even talk with them at higher levels of mastery.

Dominion 4
Mastery: Major
Fire: The manipulation and creation of fire/flames, ability to pass through fire unharmed.
Power Based: The more fire you can create.
Control Based: The more fire you can withstand.

Dominion 5
Superior Endurance
Mastery: Lesser
Superior Endurance: Accelerated endurance. This dominion means you can endure greater pressure, deeper pain, greater strain both physical and emotional, and more dangerous situations than you normally would be able to. Can also run farther and do more laborious things without getting tired.
Power Based: Greater physical strain.
Control Based: Greater mental or emotional strain.

Dominion 6
Mastery: Lesser
Shadow: The creation/manipulation of shadows, the ability to fade into the shadows or use shadows to hide things. Power Based: The larger amount of shadows you can create at once.
Control Based: The more shadows you can manipulate at once.

Character In-Depth

key points
● fiancé's disappearance
● 18yo: almost dropped her studies after some comments about her drawing skills
● 16yo: became aware of Viridian's existence
"I've bought your favorite canelés." A pause. "I can't wait to see you. I love you."

It was the last time Camille heard her fiancé's voice. Deep, husky, filled with a gentle inflection. Waiting for Mattis in the house her parents owned on the Oléron Isle, she imagined how she could welcome him. A little surprise wouldn't hurt, right? But time went by, and Mattis never got home. Camille called him again and again. Called his family, their friends. Nobody knew where he was. Ultimately, she reported his disappearance to the police. But the first questions hurt more than she would have thought. Did they fight recently? It looked like a voluntary disappearance, did he have a mistress?

Coming back to Bordeaux, her home city where she had decided to settle down after finishing her restorer's studies, Camille rummaged through their flat looking for clues. They had been together for three years, and everything looked perfect in this paradise she called their couple. So perfect, they had considered getting married before the end of the year. So perfect that Viridian kept his mouth shut, accepting every part of Mattis. He was her soulmate, and he felt the same. She was damn sure about it.

And while doubts looking like arrows shot at her appeared, Camille hold onto her conviction. Something had happened to him. Still, she was conflicted when it came to peek in Mattis' belongings.

Until her older sister told her: "How much do you know about him? You can live with someone, and never know who the person is. Truly."

What's the truth after all? Something that exists? Something that her brain interpreted? Something she wanted to see?

It was the second obstacle she had to overcome in her life. The first one had been Viridian's awakening. But she had managed to move forward. She could do it again.

Packing her stuff and taking a leave, she went to Biarritz then Bayonne, cities where Mattis had grown up and where his best friends lived. They knew a lot about them. Their awkward meeting in the workshop where Mattis worked as a restorer as well, the first time they had met each other family, Camille neverending questions when she wanted to find the perfect birthday's gift.

But wherever she went the answers sounded the same. "He was the same as usual." "He looked fine." "He talked a lot about your future wedding and his last work." At some point, Camille hoped for someone to toss bad news at her. The 'why' haunting her mind was turning into a bitter taste filling her mouth. Did she do something? Did she say something bad that day? Lost in her thoughts, lost in her hunt, she slowly shut herself away from people allowing her obsession eaten her energy, her life, herself.

And the things she couldn't stand began to pile up. "I know how you feel", pity or sadness in the eyes, affectionate gestures, the thick mist wrapping his disappearance, the missing pieces she couldn't find.

One day, while she decided to organize his books for the first time, a scrap of paper slipped from one of them. There were a name and two other words. It was her chance.

The City was her only chance, and she arrived determined to know the truth, whatever the cost. One of the prices she had to pay was facing her own complex, and remembering these words: "You're pretty good, for a copycat." Life and its irony.

Run away from something and it would come back to haunt you.

Demon Information

A part of a golden mask is embedded on his face. A black gown hides his body. Two black holes instead of the eyes scrutinize people, always trying to see what's beyond their flesh. Temperamental with a foul mouth, Viridian seeks beauty and only behaves when he finds it. In someone or somewhere. Otherwise, he can talk, or more like complain a lot, insisting on all the flaws and the ugly details he can find. And he can keep going for a long time.

Preying on flaws and insecurities, Viridian feeds himself with them. His size depends on this "food", but Viridian is always hungry. A strong supporter of mental manipulation, he's the only reason that could push Camille to take risks and to accept to lose control. Eat everything to leave only what is beautiful. It could be his motto. It doesn't matter if someone turns into an empty shell in the end. However, Viridian leaves Camille's complex alone. Not because he wants her to face them and overcome them, but because she has to rely on him when they refrain her from moving forward.

Chains and shield. Weapon and suffocating collar. Viridian considers he's the only one who could take her life away.
