The music thrummed, and the beat echoed, and Bambii was home. A night off was almost unheard for from the rather workaholic - But tonight was that night. Not a drug on her, well, except for what was vibrating through her veins but that..Well that was unrecognizable to anyone but her subconscious. The blackness of her eyes completely hid any dilation, and she lived high enough to stop any apparent twitching or muscle spasms. Hell, she would walk right up to a legionnaire and they would not even notice a difference.

Well, except for the fact she was a known Kairos. But. Eh.

It was not a club, so much as a very aggressive bar. The music was much louder than normal, but instead of the flickering lights and the open source dance floor, there were booths and tables lining the area. Waitresses would bring you your drink if you saw fit, or you could sit directly at the counter and converse with a bartender who pretended to give a damn about whatever you had chosen to whine about that evening.

Bambii was in the corner booth, a little more hidden from view and nursing a beer casually. Eyes watching everyone who entered, as if she was awaiting someone specific. Which was, of course, was no one in particular, just perhaps someone who would not be as boring as everyone else seemed to be here.

NOTES Let the fun begin!

It was the kind of bar where nobody expected her to be. Eveline Blanchard-Steele, with all her millions, was already known for attending only the highest-class locales around the city - often with a politician or a DA. Sometimes, even other rich people - but almost always with her husband. At least, so it had been until he had disappeared mysteriously for a few months.

But now he was back, and the myriad of emotions Eve felt around that had mandated that she escape and come here. She'd done so directly after work, staying late and being the last of the 'day' workers to leave. She'd made up some bullshit about wanting to speak with her night time Legionnaires which she didn't see much of, though the shifts were supposed to rotate every two months to avoid burnout and enable everyone to have a somewhat normal life.

But now, she was at this... bar. It was loud, a bit dirty, and frequented by the kind of patrons she was more used to seeing behind bars. She dressed simply - blue jeans, a black blouse and boots - that concealed a gun. Her makeup was minimal and she clutched a minuscule purse that barely closed with her cellphone and wallet inside it. She sat by the bar, at the furthest stool from the door and angled herself so her face wouldn't be as easily visible. It wouldn't do if anyone recognized her - she didn't feel like fighting anyone.

Eveline sighed and waved the barman over, ordering a whiskey on the rocks. A double,
at that. She sipped her drink, eyeing the bar to find most everyone already in conversation -
except for a young woman, covered with tattoos, at a booth. She made eye contact for barely a second before turning away, hoping she wouldn't get any ideas.

She caught her eye. Not because she was beautiful - even if she was. Not because of the way she walked through the bar almost like she owned everything around her. No. It was because she was so out of place. Even dressed as simply as she was in only blue jeans and a black blouse and boots, she still stood out. Like an angel amongst a bar filled with scum of the City. Bambii's dark black eyes studied her, head cocking to the side as she nursed her own drink. Watchful. And then the woman made eye contact but quickly looked away. Now why she got to go and do that? Now Bambii just had to go over there. It'd be against her pride to do anything but. Can't let herself get ignored now could she?

And then she was beside her. The temptress with a chin held high and an aura of complete ignorance. Of course, she looked familiar, but the demon could not place her finger on it. Something about her was alluring. "Now, Whatchu doing all up in this place? Sugar like y'aint meant for such a measly sour whiskey eh? Dontchu worry sugar, I aint gonna offer to buy you a drink. You can buy me one though, if y'like?"There was a taunting to her tone, a glint of mischief and amusement in her eye. Knowing the woman would scoff at her. Them rich types normally did. Probably roll her eyes, or look at her with disgust.

But one could never ignore the luscious of the demons lips. The way every inch of her exuded confidence. Her eyes never wavering, and that slow chesire grin spread long across her face. And one could not deny pheremones, even if they were the smallest hint of a scent. Head tilting to the side before she shoved a hand to push her hair back away from her face. "Y'look rather bothered, and not jus' by me."

And of course a mere second of what some could construe as accidental or casual eye contact had made the woman come over. Eveline managed not to sigh in annoyance as she began talking. Was there truly no place she could be by herself? True, she could go home... if there was still a home to go to.

After all, the deal was done. He was back... and with his return, the inevitable had happened - they had gotten divorced. They'd signed the papers earlier that day and she was almost effectively homeless. Her stuff was still at his manor, and he had graciously given her permission to return whenever she needed. Still, she wanted out of there - back to an apartment in Ghost Town, though maybe a bit nicer one.

But these thoughts, about the way her life had spiraled out of control, were not something she felt like sharing with a random woman. Still, she caught the barman's attention and waved him over. "Give the lady whatever she wants. Put it on my tab." she commanded, before finally turning around to face her with a polite smile on her face that didn't quite reach her eyes. "I might not belong here, but we all want a change of pace from time to time."She answered succinctly.

At her last statement, however, she couldn't help but glance down at the engagement ring on her left hand. She stared at it for a moment, before answering. "Yes, what's the point of denying it? Life never stops."

That relaxed and easy grin spread over her lips as it was offered to have the drink put on her tab. Bambii was not broke, but it was always pleasant to get a drink purchased for her. Even though, she normally would not have taken such a route. Call it - switching things up. She ordered a scotch, neat, and brought her attention back to the woman before her. Her chin resting casually on her hand, arm on the bar, and leaning towards her a little bit. Just enough she was a bit in her personal space but not overly intrusive. It was the subtle things. The way she knew the woman didn't actually want her company, but Bambii had a hard time really caring about anyone else's wants except for her own. Luckily, normally, her wants ended up leaving the other rather satisfied in the end.

"Thanks babe." Was the simple response, and when she started speaking about the change of pace, that grin turned to a small smirk. "Definitely nothing like trying something new." There was unsurprising innuendo in the remark. The woman seemed lost half in her own thoughts, barely paying much mind to the demon but Bambii didn't mind. She hadn't told her to leave, and even then the demon doubted she'd suppress herself enough to actually leave. She liked what she liked, and she was tempted to get exactly what she wanted. Always. After all, she rather liked to win.

"Life never stops. But it don'tgotta be bothersome eh? What's on y'mind? Want to forget it? Tequila is the way to go y'know." There was that amusement in her lilting voice and she was lifting up her hand to the bartender in response to the comment, just as her drink was placed before him. "New pace in a new place seems y'need to loosen up. M'names Bambii sugar, what do you go by? Or shall I continue to call you by whatever sweetness comes t'mind?"

NOTES Let the fun begin!

Of course she didn't want the other woman there - what she wanted was somewhere to be alone with her thoughts, but also somewhere with decent amount of alcohol. Why hadn't she just stayed home, back to her old apartment? She'd sold her parents manor ages ago, deeming it unnecessary.

But no, something had made her come here. A desire to know that life went on, that it would go back to normal. Hell, it probably would be even better - now she didn't have to care about the company and would still get a yearly deposit of whatever profits had been made. Not that she cared much - she was still living of the rather sizable life insurance his parents had had.

"I don't think I could ever forget it." she admitted. Eveline sighed, then took off the engagement ring and held it in front of her eye for a moment before pocketing it. "The day you get divorced isn't one you ever forget." Why was she telling the woman this? She looked...well, wild. Tattoos, while not her favorite thing in the world, didn't bother her that much. But there was something about her demeanor...

She couldn't help but give a small smile at her name though. She definitely did not look like a harmless deer. "Eveline." She offered her name without a second thought, not really caring if this helped reveal who she really was. "But maybe you are right...Bartender, a shot of tequila - the best you have." Only a shot though -if there was a place in the world she did not want to get drunk at, it was definitely this place.

She turned back towards Bambii, not surprised to see her leaning into her personal space."And what about you, mhm? What brings a girl like you to this bar?"

Her eyes looked at the glamourous ring, expecting nothing short of what was presented. Her eyes glancing over it, the brief thought of pocketing it presenting in her mind before it vanished again. There was little thrill in stealing something someone probably wished she did not have anyways. After all, it would just be a favor to the woman. Who would ever wish to hold onto such a sentimental object? Not that Bambii really understood sentiments. That was more of a human emotion, and while she was exotic in everything emotional, that was not something she held a torch for. What was past was past. Although, she had never been married or even in a relationship, so perhaps that had something to do with it.

"Divorced? Can't say that I got much know how on that there set up. But hey, least you still young and damn fine 'nuff. Best now then when you wrinkled n old."
Because the woman did not look old enough to have been married. Although, human age always was a puzzle in the demons mind. She did not really recognize much except the really young an the really old, everything else was just fine in her books. The name was mentioned without care, and Bambii took it as such. Names held little thought in her mind, and she would probably go back to calling her sugar or any other obscene name that slithered off her tongue.

Her grin spread even more as the shot was ordered, and Bambii stuck up her finger in a peace sign before she took a drink of her own glass. She whistled low in response, before speaking again as the bartender was heading back to them: "Damn fine name too. Now, Why is bambii here? Well mainly just looking for some entertainment. Lil' distraction. Maybe bit o'adventure you hear me? What does Eveline like to do for enjoyment? Or bein' all married 'n shit sort of have you forget what it's like to have fun?" Her brow rose, head cocking to the side and a sly grin on her lips as the teasing entered her tone of voice. The woman was definitely not what Bambii would normally talk to. That was for sure.

Eveline merely smiled politely at the compliment about her figure, one she had heard many times before. She wasn't used to this kind of attention anymore. It had been entirely too long since she had stepped out from her ivory tower, from the glamorous parties and upscale restaurants. There, flirting was a thing of the past - or maybe that was just because they all knew her and her husband. Now, if she were to go back, there'd be whispers. Mutterings on lips barely concealed behind hands.

She downed the shot of Tequila and closed her eyes for a moment, fighting against the bitter taste so she wouldn't grimace. When the fire was finally past her throat she opened them and stared pensively at her companion. "You could say that. Fun isn't something I've had in a while." She admitted. The reason why wasn't something she was willing to share, at least not now.

"I like to go down to the gun range and shoot, honestly. But that's to release some steam. Doubt you can count it as 'fun'." She continued, the alcohol loosening her tongue. She caught the bartender's attention again to ask for a Tequila Sunrise, which she sipped slowly. "So, I assume your idea of entertainment, distraction and adventure means approaching lonely women at bars?"
